The Minniss Family Update

Welcome to The Minniss Family's Blog... we are doing great in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Charles is a football and track coach at Harrison High School, the same place I teach and coach cheerleading. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program through UCCS getting my degree in Special Education. We both our still therapuetic foster parents to four additional children with special needs... 3 boys (ages 2, 15, and 19) and a girl (3). Needless to say, we stay very busy!

Jess is a teenager (Can you believe I have a teenage daughter? She will be 14 on November 22nd). She lives with her mom in Nebraska. It is our hope she will get to live with us some time soon.

Nodikaa is 10 and just joined her school's basketball team (much against her will). She got to perform with my cheerleaders last week for the big half-time show between Sierra and Harrison... she rocked! Nodi also got her own phone; so if you see an unknown Colorado number calling you, it is probably her.

Mykiaa is 8 and is the star soccer player on her team. She recently completed her fall season. She is the leading scorer and is so fast! Kiaa has a part in her school play coming up next week, it is is called "Three of a Kind." She is quite the drama queen!

Chaylaa is 6 and also just completed her fall season of soccer. To help us out she played up with her sister, Kiaa, two age groups. You would never have known she was six playing against eight and nine year olds - she was the toughest one on the field! Breezy was just placed in a SOAR program (similar to gifted and talented), she is too smart for her own good!

We currently have one dog named Herky. He is a Boston Terrier and use to be Travis and Desiree's. We met them in Nebraska to pick him up, when they know longer could have him. I gave his sister, Lil' Mama to Monica and Jesse (that is the dog pictured in their blog). Charles still thinks we got the short end of the stick... I am positive Trav made him have attachment issues...lol!

Stay tuned for pics and more updates!
